The football results, Shipping forecast and lottery results are probably the only three things that you can be believe are factually true when listening ro the BBC these days
They even use the weather forecast as an excuse to scaremonger these days.
Some so called public service broadcaster..

If they don't need to read the results out at 5, then we actually don't need any of the show, do we?

Everybody has access to the internet when they're driving home from the football/shops don't they?

If you care enough to listen in to someone dryly going through the results across the divisions then you probably care enough to have checked the results already.

Almost certain the BBC did some research on how any people were still getting the results that way.

Having said that it’s always good to listen to the shipping forecast on radio 4…. For about a minute.

Remember, it’s ‘OUR’ BBC!
I’d like to know what their definition of OUR is because it certainly does not include the majority view of this country.

Its more like Test Match Special saying that at stumps we wont run through the scorecard and give you the score. Because you should have been listening all day and its on the bbc website anyway

Yeah - next thing, you'll be telling me that an established East End institution, established football team will abandon their beloved home ground to move to a soul less athletics bowl on the London/Essex borders.

Oh - hang on - forget that......

A Spurs supporting woman
UNACCEPTABLE

Just think its weird that 5Live would spend all afternoon giving score updates and broadcasting a commentary and then think they cant spare 3 mins at 5pm to wrap up the afternoons fixtures by READING OUT THE FINAL SCORES.

Presume they will fill that 3 mins talking about Eric Ten Hag

I would've thought that some here believed the era ended when a woman started reading the results...

Yes they will - access what you want and when you want.

Traditional publishing of news according to TV slots or newspaper print runs is the past.

News and weather are just as instantly available as sports results or real time video of the space station docking (awesome aka bloody incredible what you can watch in real time for free on your phone) as an example.

Right move by the BBC,

Heard a couple of debates about it this week and one thing that keeps cropping up is “you can get the scores on your phone”

So fucking what, you can also get the latest news and weather on your phone, does that mean they should do away with that as well?

That's sad

I used to love listening to it and the music.

Does that mean more time for pointless top 4 club bias expert analysis.

I reckon some of the 5m listeners to it would have noticed something missing?

The radio offered by the BBC is very good around the UK and very expensive. Like most Tv its good bad and shit. Love Bbc4 and dont mind 2, its catch up service is quality , love the Docs , yes theres shit on there but it caters for all. Do your wives make you watch the celebrity cooking stuff is it a cry for help. Turn over.

I'm amazed that the flag shaggers on here have so much hate for the Beeb, I thought you lot were supposed to be proud of all things 'British'......
